A heartfelt THANK YOU to all attendees, artists, and staff who helped make the past year's Gettysburg Bluegrass Festivals a HUGE success! What a year 2010 was for bluegrass in Gettysburg. Our May show, the 60th in our history, marked the return of Alison Kraus & Union Station to Gettysburg after more than 10 years of absence. Judging by the near record turnout, it was long overdue! And when Tony Rice strolled onto the stage Alison herself could be heard to exclaim, "THIS IS REALLY SPECIAL !" Special indeed. 2010 also marked the year that we finally retired our old trailer stage and replaced it with a beautiful "King Post Truss" timberframe structure. And by all accounts it sounds as good as it looks! August highlights included a rousing Friday night perfomance by Tony Rice & Mountain Heart as well as the return of stalwarts IIIrd Tyme Out and The Grascals. Saturday was another fantastic day of bluegrass and fan favorites Dailey & Vincent and the Steep Canyon Rangers did not disappoint. And Gettysburg just wouldn't be Gettysburg without Dry Branch Fire Squad and The Seldom Scene. Too many outstanding moments to list. You just have to see and hear for yourself.
Stay tuned to this site for 2011 lineup announcement and other exciting news about the festival. While you're at it, check us out on Twitter & Facebook as well. 2010 will be hard to top but we'll give it the old college try!
