The Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival is held at Granite HIll Camping Resort, conveniently located just 5 miles west of Gettysburg and 2 miles east of Fairfield on PA Route 116. Good roads all the way, and a good road into the park. You can print the maps shown above for your convenience, and listed below are directions from some major cities to help you get here and enjoy the music! Also, please remember to bring CASH for all gate transactions. We do not have charge card facilities at our gate, but we do take Visa/MC for ADVANCE sales only. Please help us keep the line moving quickly and smoothly by bringing cash for your gate purchase of tickets and camping.
From Washington & Northern VA areas:
From the Beltway, take I-270 to Frederick, and continue on North on US 15 to Emmitsburg, MD. Watch for a left turn just after passing Mt.St. Mary's College, at the Getty gas station on left. Take this about one half mile to the Emmitsburg town square and turn left onto Route 140. (Note: if you miss the turn at the Getty station, don't fret. Continue on 15 to the next exit and turn left onto route 140 and you've only lost a couple of miles) Stay on route 140 about 3 miles until you cross into PA where the route number changes to PA route 16. About a mile or so into PA, and just after passing one of our campground signs, turn right onto PA route 116. There is a little bank building on this corner. Follow route 116 past Ski Liberty and through the picturesque village of Fairfield. Granite Hill is just two miles beyond Fairfield on the right. If you have a map (always recommended), Granite Hill is located between Gettysburg and Fairfield on PA route 116, closer to Fairfield. Another Note: the Ski Liberty Hotel is off season, and just 4 miles from the festival, but book in early as they always fill up!
From Philadelphia:
The easiest way is to get on the PA Turnpike(I-76) headed west. Get off at Exit 17 and go south on US Route 15 about 35 miles to the "York Street" exit (it will be your second exit for Gettysburg). Turn right and go straight to center of town, and turn left at the circle (3/4 the way around). Go one block and turn right at the court house onto West Middle Street, which is also PA Route 116. Granite Hill is exactly 6 miles from that turn, on the left.
From Pittsburgh:
Take the PA Turnpike (I-76)East
to the Blue Mountain Exit 15. Go south on PA Route 997 through beautiful countryside to US Route 30. Turn left on Rt 30 and go over the mountain about 8 miles and watch for a right turn into Cashtown (a small branch bank is on this corner). A left and then a quick right turn in the village of Cashtown will get your headed toward Fairfield. When you get there (gas station on left), turn left and go two miles. Granite Hill will be on your right.
Warning: if you do not like two lane country roads, then stay on I-76 to Exit 17 and follow the directions from there as shown for Philadelphia. That will take you a bit east then back again, but it is 4 lanes all the way to Gettysburg.
From Allentown:
Take I-78 west to I-81 south to Harrisburg. Take Rt 15 south to the York Street exit, turn right and go to center of town. Turn left at the traffic circle and go one block, then turn right at court house onto West Middle Street(also PA Rt 116). Go six miles to Granite Hill Campground on your left.
From State College:
Route 322 east toward Harrisburg is good, then south on Rt 15 following same directions as listed for Allentown or Philadelphia. Also, you can find your way south to the PA Turnpike then go east following the directions listed for Pittsburgh. Lets face it- if you found State College, finding Gettysburg will be a piece of cake. Come on down!
From New York State:
If you like the New Jersey Turnpike(I-95), take it south and connect with the PA Turnpike(I-76)and then follow the directions shown for Philadelphia.
If Interstate 80 is more convenient for you, then take it west into PA. Turn south on I-81 to US Rt 15 (just over the Susquehanna River at Harrisburg). Go south on Rt 15 to the second Gettysburg exit called "York Street". Turn right, go to center of town and turn left at the traffic circle. Go one block and turn right at the court house onto West Middle Street. This is also PA RT 116, and Granite is straight ahead, just 6 miles from the court house, on your left.
From Baltimore:
From the Beltway, take the Northwest Expressway past Owings Mills to the end and continue on MD Route 140 all the way through Westminster, Tanneytown, and Emmitsburg. Just a couple of miles beyond Emmitsburg you cross into PA and the road number changes to PA Rt 16. You stay on Rt 16 only about 2 miles until you come to a right turn on PA Rt 116. Go past Ski Liberty and through Fairfield. Granite Hill is just 2 miles beyond the village of Fairfield on the right.
