As the 81st Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival waxes and wanes, it is appropriate to thank those who have brought our festival to fruition! First and foremost, we would like to thank our sponsors, especially Eastman Strings, the sponsor of the Gettysburg Bluegrass Academy for Kids whose generosity is greatly appreciated. Ira Gitlin the academy director, for running and organizing the Kids Academy, along with his amazing team of instructors. We are forever grateful to the founders of the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival, Joe & Lil Cornett and their right-hand men, the late Sterling Dehoff and Ron Fryling, a Granite Hill employee of 43 years! Furthermore, we’d like to acknowledge all those whose dedication has made the festival possible year after year—the Granite Hill staff, both permanent and temporary; the emcees; the sound crew of Southard Audio; the vendors; volunteers; and of course the bands! Above all, we wish to thank you, the fans and festival attendees who have joined us over the last 40 years to celebrate the bluegrass genre! We feel blessed by the community you’ve created here, which has grown this gathering into the festival we all know and love. It is with enthusiasm and gratitude that we wish you a wonderfully rejuvenating weekend!
